Learning Disability and Mild Mental Disability

Ripley-Ohio-Dearborn Special Education Cooperative provides services to students with learning disabilities and mild mental disabilities on the basis of a full continuum. These students are serviced in their home schools. The level of services a student receives is based on the least restrictive environment for that student, which is determined by the case conference committee. Some students may receive only consultative services, while more involved students may require an increased amount of intervention in order to progress in the general education curriculum. In addition, some student may need services such as: speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior intervention, or counseling. Accommodations and modifications are addressed in the individualized education plan to help the student to compensate for his/her deficits. For additional information regarding the services available to students with learning disabilities or mild mental disabilities, call Ripley-Ohio-Dearborn Special Education Cooperative at (812)623-2212.
